Thurs. June 30, 2011 STVMONTG2

The card I want to share with you today, is for the Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV.  Tina gave us three colors: pink, grey and ivory.

I used the Nestablities Lotus die as a backdrop for the circle die cut.  I stamped Melanie's circle stamp from her "Branching Out" set.  The sentiment is from Tami's "Dreams" set.  I whipped up a rose, added some ivory pearls and a seam binding ribbon, I dyed to match.  Thank you Becca Feekan, for sharing the video on how to do it!!!

Thank you for visiting!

Wed. June 29, 2011 Three challenges, one card

I have often wondered how some cardmakers combine one card into something like 12 challenges.  I think 3 challenges for 1 card is going to be the limit for me-LOL.
First off, this is for F4A70 (Free for All- Stripes) on SCS.

Then I entered it into the Sweet'nSassy challenge J4F3- a square card, and a square card sketch #197 at Mojo Mondays.

I made the strips by attaching strips of quilling paper to a piece of cs, before I die cut the stars.  The sentiment is from "Floating Along" from Mark's Finest Papers. I used an embossing folder for the white layer, and also a Nestie die for the numbers..

Tues. June 28, 2011 CAS-ual Fridays Challenge # CFC8

I am enjoying the CAS-ual Fridays challenges, so I wanted to play along once again, with the one this week-called Getting Edgy!  I used Gina K's "Quite a Catch" stamp set , some sponging for the waves and voila'-done.  I named this card HUH?

Check out Tami's blog for details-comment and you could win her new stamp set.

Mon. June 27,2011 STVMONJM1 #2

Happy Monday!  I had some time yesterday, so I decided to paper piece another image, for Jimmi's challenge STVMONJM1 at Stamp TV.

The image and the sentiment are from Gina's "The Funny Farm" stamp set.

As I was making this, I giggled as I looked for a piece of dp for the 'ewe'.  Looks like she ate so many of the flowers, she now looks like them! LOL

Sun. June 26, 2011 Time to make a CASE

My card to share with you today is for Challenge STVFRICT3.  Cat picked AJ's gallery and we were to pick a card to CASE.
The card I chose from AJ's gallery is this one. I loved the simplicity of her design.

I changed the color of the card base, and instead of using the striped piece, I chose a solid. I chose a single image for the focal point as well, but I colored mine with Memento markers. My die cut is a different shape too. I snuck that little bow on the focal image- because I thought it looked cute!

Wed. June 22, 2011 Just 4 Fun challenge

I have never played in Jessica Fick's Just 4 Fun challenge at  Sweet 'n Sassy Connection before, but this sounded well-just for fun!!!!
I don't have any of their images, but they said that is okay! I have two cards to enter in this challenge.
This is also entered for a challenge at CAS-ual Fridays #CFC7.-Color Blocks, and for the CR*4FN challenge to use yellow, aqua and green..
The main pennant is from Tami Mayberry's "Perfect Pennants"
stamp set. The sentiment was written by hand!

Now for the following card, I used one of the medallion stamps from Gina K's Elegant Elements set.  Using a polka dot embossing folder as my bg, I stamped and cut out 6 different color elements. I then added a drop of Glossy Accents and glitter in the center of each. This is also entered for a challenge at CAS-ual Fridays #CFC7.-Color Blocks.

My card today is for the Free for All Friday challenge at StampTV.  Jennie gave us a sketch with trees as the theme.

I used some trees from Theresa's "Life is Good" stamp set. I colored the stamp with Memento markers. The image's bg  was sponged with Distress inks. The frame is from Tami's "Dreams" stamp set.

I'm so glad you stopped by!

Mon. June 20, 2011 SCS Challenge

Good morning blog friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend-the weather here was fantastic, and after the cold wet spring we've had, it's a thrill!

My card today is for a challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers, WT327-to use vellum.  For my bg, I used a piece of vellum and alcohol inks. My daisies are from Mark's Finest Papers set called "Start the Day with Gerber".  I colored them with Copic markers and added Stickles to the centers.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

Sun. June 19, 2011 Image inside a punch

Good Morning!

I just recently bought one of Martha's anywhere on the page pinches-this one is the Rose. I liked the way the punch does what it is supposed to do.  This is the first time I've used it, but I will be using it again for some fun designs.
Here is a close up to show you what I did with the space this time. I used another punch to make the flower petals, which I colored and attached to try and recreate Theresa's flower in my focal image.

Theresa's Vogue Vases is a fabulous set and I can see my inking them up quite frequently! Glad you stopped by!

Wed. June 15, 2011 Floral Lattice

Today's card was a fun one for me to put together! The oval is from Melanie's "Branching Out" set and the sentiment is from Nina's "Fanciful Tags" set. Both of these are available HERE.  I stamped them and heat embossed on pale pink vellum.
The frame is a Nestie and the lattice was made using strips of white cs. Thanks for letting me share this with you!

Tues. June 14, 2011 Bling and Balloons

I have been wanting to ink up this image since I received my new StampTV kit, and after I watched Gina's last video, I was inspired to get moving on this creation!  I love the bright colors and the Clear Star pen I used to highlight parts of this image.  I thank you for stopping by!

Mon. June 13- second post - 3 challenge cards!!!!

I finished three challenge cards this morning, so thought I'd go ahead and write a post, so I can get them entered.

First up is a card for the One Layer Wednesday challenge # 57. It was to be a sand, surf or beach theme.
I used the shell image from Mark's Finest Papers "Sand, Surf and Relax" stamp set. I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white EP.  I then colored in the shell with just a Versamark pen.  I love the way it slightly darkens the kraft cs.

My next card is for last Friday's challenge at StampTV. (STVFRILM1)  Lee challenged us with a recipe to follow:
2 embellishments-     I used fiber and brads.
3 images-     I used images from Theresa's "Vogue Vases" set.
4 colors-     everything counts except white.  I used Soft Sand, Kraft, Black, Peach and patterned dp.
5 layers-    I lost count, but I think there are way more than 5-LOL.

My last challenge card for today is for Cat's StampTV challenge "Wear your White"  STVMONCT2. She said we could use a little color, but the card should be predominantly white. Once again I used Theresa's "Vogue Vases" set. I colored the stamp with Memento markers and huffed.  I colored the inside of the flowers with Copic markers. I cut the vase out, added distress ink to my embossing folder. I really like all the texture on this card!

Well, that's it for now!  I am waiting for my son to get here for a visit- super excited! Thanks for stopping by!

Mon. June 13, 2011 Father's Day card

Good Morning!  Sadly, my Dad has been gone since 2004, and I miss him still, every day.  I wanted to make a Father's Day card for my darling DH.  He has two sons, but has always treated my daughter and son, as his own.

When we got married 10 years ago, he went out and bought chocolate cigars to give to our wedding guests. Thinking that he had weddings and births confused, I asked him why he got the cigars.  He answered "because today I have a new daughter and a son".  Isn't that just the sweetest thing???

Here is the card I made to give to him next Sunday.  The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers "Big Boy Toys" stamp set.

As you can see I made the shirt with a dollar bill.  Instructions for this origami design are HERE.  Thank you for visiting today!

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Sun. June 12, 2011 STVMONVD1

Hi everyone!
Mix It Up Monday at StampTV is add texture on your card. The texture on my first card is the cracked glass vase. Yep, you can actually feel those cracks!  I stamped the flowers after coloring the stamp with Memento markers.  I then added a little Smooch to the buds for added shimmer.

My next card uses the bicycle image and a sentiment  from the new StampTV kit called "Vintage Chic".

Well, that's it for today!  Stay cool!

Sat. June 11, 2011 Speedy Challenge #59

Happy Saturday!  I hope you have a fun day planned!

Fri. June 10, 2011 CSS Alumni Inspiration Hop

Hi everyone!  I hope you are ready to be inspired again, as we have an awesome website to use as our inspiration. If you arrived from Giovana's blog, you are in the right place.  If you would like to start at the beginning, click HERE.

Blog Hop Details:
Create a card or project based on any of the featured in birthday themed photos from The Party Dress (http://www.thepartydress.net) .
I've circled the photo I used for my inspiration.

My flower was made using 5 kites from the new "Vintage Chic" StampTV kit. I scored the Red Hot red Pure Luxury card stock- to imitate the pin tucks on the little girl's dress. I punched my white border , inspired by her collar. The touch of green ribbon on the button-from the flower stem!

Thank you for visiting my blog and letting me share my card with you!
Now you are going to visit the very talented KAY's BLOG and see her beautiful work.

Mon. June 6, 2011 STVFRISJD1

Wow- the weekends just fly by, don't they?  My card today is for Suzanne's Friday challenge to use 3 stamps to create a scene.

I started with a kraft card base and another lattice frame, like the one I used last week. I received some emails asking me about this frame.  Here is the part number: (S4-319) Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles .
My scene was created using images from Theresa's "Sending Sunshine" and "The Giving Tree" stamp sets.  I also used Tami's frame from her new "Dreams" stamp set. The sentiment is from Theresa's new set called "Vogue Vases".  All  four of these sets are available HERE

Sunday, June 5, 2011

Sun. June 5, 2011 STVMONSH1

The Mix it UP Monday challenge at Stamp TV this week is to sew (real or faux) on your card.

I used the frame and a sentiment from Tami's "Dreams" set. The butterflies are from Theresa's "Sending Sunshine" set, and the little flower buds from her "Vogue Vases" set.

Now, here's what I came up with for this challenge! I appreciate you stopping by!

Sat. June 4, 2011 Speedy Challenge 58

Happy Saturday!
Time for another challenge at Speedy Challenge from Mark's Finest Papers. The challenge this week is to use a paper or silk flower on your card.
My focal point is a sentiment from the soon to be released Poppies, Poppies, Poppies stamp set. All four new sets will be available on Tuesday.  The flower is one I made from card stock a while ago and it sat in my flower storage box.  Thank you for stopping by!
Edited: A few of you have asked how I made the frame.  It is
(S4-319) Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles.

Woo hoo, it's Friday!  Do you have a busy weekend planned?

My card today is for a sketch challenge at Card Positioning Systems #220, and for WT325 on SCS. The sentiment I used is a sneak peek from a soon to be released stamp set called Poppies, Poppies, Poppies from Mark's Finest Papers.

Thurs. June 2, 2011 MFP Sneak Peek

Today's card uses an image from the soon to be release "Floating Along" stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers. Next Tuesday, June 7 is the Release Hop where you can see all the new sets.

First, I want to show you a photo I took a number of years ago of a waterlily from our lake. This is probably one of my favorite photos I have ever taken-LOL.

Here is the card I made, using a lace rectangle die cut for my background.

Thanks for stopping by!

6-1-2011 2nd Post for today OLW 56

This week's OLW challenge is to make a card for a special father in your life...your own, your children's, or a father figure who is special to you.

Once again, I have used the trout image from Theresa's "Gone Fishing" stamp set, for my one layer card.  This is such a great set for making masculine cards.

Thank you for visiting!  See you tomorrow!

Wed. June 1, 2011 Summer Scene

Every now and again, I really enjoy making a 'scene' card.  I kind of get lost in a daydream, while creating them.

The wagon wheel and the watering can are from Theresa's "Farm Life" stamp set. The flowers are from Melanie's "A Year of Borders" set.
The fence is a die cut. That's it for today-see ya tomorrow!
