Our Speedy challenge this week is to create a card using a hat pin.

 I used the image of the watering can from Mark's Finest Papers stamp set called "In my Mother's Garden".

I colored the watering can with Copics and popped it up on a couple of die cuts.  I added a ribbon and a pretty pearl hat pin from Mark's Finest Papers.

There will be a winner of one of next month's stamp sets. You may use ANY stamps you like, however, if you use MFP stamps you are entered twice in the random drawing.

I decided on a CAS card this time around, and used an image and sentiment from the "Spring Mix" kit. I stamped with white ink on a kraft panel, which I popped up on a Sand card base.  I used my Scor-Buddy to add accents.  I also sponged a little white ink around the kraft panel, to make it stand out a bit.

Fri. Apr. 29, 2011 Cold enough for Christmas?

We are still waiting for Spring!  It is 47 ° today, so no time like the present to make a Christmas card.  Also, I got this TM die on sale and just had to try it out on some Grunge board!

  I painted it with some Paint Dabbers and Copics and a glitter pen.  The clouds were cut from felt and a die from PTI.  The sentiment is from Melanie Muenchinger's "Festive Frame" stamp set from Gina K. Designs.  I attached a little gold hanging cord behind the hat, so the recipient can hang it on the tree!

Thurs. Apr. 28, 2011 A Special Day

Good Morning!!! 

Today, my hubby and I are celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary.  I love him even more today than when I married him! He's my rock, and my biggest  cheerleader for this hobby (er, addiction) call card-making!!! 

Oh yeah, today is also my birthday. Yikes, it ends in zero, so I am entering a new decade, and let me tell ya- Mom was right when she said time goes by faster and faster the older we get!

My card today is a Thank You- thanking my DH for all his love and support and for all the love he bestows on me, and my Mom, my kids, and my granddaughter.

This cute little mouse and sentiment is from Gina K's "Spring Mix" STV kit. His little sign in paper pieced, so I could have it hanging over the edge of the die cut circle.

Wed. Apr. 27, 2011 Two Challenge cards

I have 2 challenge cards to share with you today.  At last Thursday's Release party at StampTV we were given these challenges, in order to have a chance to win a GKD stamp set.

Up first is my card for Cat's "Randon Findings" challenge.  I found these two eye hooks in the kitchen junk drawer, so decided on a guy's card! Perfect!

I used Gina's "Ribbons and Stripes" set and the sentiment is from the "Versatile Verses" set.

My second card is for Jimmi's challenge to use 3 different patterned papers.

The butterfly, the flourish and sentiment are from the "Springtime Silhouettes" STV kit.

Tues. Apr. 26, 2011 Lemonade

I haven't used this stamp in ages, and it was fun to ink it up again.  I thought the rosette would add a new twist to the design. I made the little lemon seeds with Glossy Accents. I squeezed them out onto a piece of pop dots backing paper and let them dry.  I then colored them with a Copic marker and glued them onto the lemon slice! Fun card, huh? So glad you stopped by!

Monday, Apr. 25, 2011 A Little Note

Good Morning!  I hope you all had a blessed Easter! We were at my sister and BIL's house and everything was wonderful as usual. Our family is small, but so nice for DH and me to be with my Mom , son and daughter. My sweet granddaughter is away at college in Arizona, so we will miss her terribly!

Actually, This card isn't the same A2 size I usually make.  This one is 5" x 7" and I have to say, I really like this. This is for a very special person!
I may be making more of this size on occasion, and will have to get some envelopes made too!

The die cut and sentiment are from PTI.  I love the simplicity of it!

I wish you and yours a Happy Easter!

This week it was time for me to make another gift box for a dear friend.

 I made the flowers and rested them on the Italian Flourish doily.  The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers set called "In my Mother's Garden".

I think this is such a fun combination to work with,  I used Melanie's "Inspiration Mosaic" and Rupa's  "Spring has Sprung" stamp sets. I paper pieced the patterned parts and colored the images with Copic markers.

One Layer Wednesday Challenge # 50

This is my second post for today- hope you don't mind, but I wanted to link my post for the challenge. The weather here is so cold and gloomy today, but a wonderful day to stamp!

For this card, I used a heart stamp that hasn't seen ink in quite a while.  It is from Tami's set called "Hopeful Hearts" and the sentiment is from Gina's "Thanks a Million" kit.  I used brown Distress EP for the sentiment.  That is really cool stuff, as it actually looks like I stamped in velvet!

Tues. Apr. 19, 2011 Bearded Iris Mother's Day card

I have a card to show you today, using an image from Mark's Finest Paper's "Bearded Iris" stamp set.  I colored this with  Copics.  The ribbon I needed was way too orange, so I ran it over my Distress  Walnut Stain ink pad, and it ended up matching the flower pot perfectly.

Last Friday, Gina gave us another color challenge.  Here is the color combo:

I used Theresa Momber's "Hope Grows" stamp set. I stamped the flowers and then masked them before stamping the leaves. I cut this out with a circle Nestie and popped it up to add dimension.

I hope you bought Rupa's "Cute as a Bug" set at Gina K's -it is sooo cute and a lot of fun to play with. 

I colored the image with Copic markers.  I cut the cloud free hand and stamped the sentiment from this same set. I also cut an extra flower from a scrap of the dp, so I could add it to the oval die cut. 
Isn't this little guy adorable?

The One Layer Wednesday challenge this week was to create a sympathy card, without trees or flowers.  Well, mine is really CAS, but sometimes that is a good thing.

Sun. April 10, 2011 Pretty Cage

Just a quick post today, using an image and a sentiment from Gina K's new StampTV kit called "Springtime Silhouettes", available HERE. I stamped and heat embossed the bird cage and the sentiment.  I twisted some matching colored wire to create the hanging chain for the cage!

Speedy's Challenge # 50

This time around, Harriet challenged us to use the Emboss Resist technique.

For my card, I used a MFP the fairy and mushroom sneak peek from the soon to be released called "Garden Fairies". The sentiment is from this same set.

April 8, 2011 CSS Alumni Inspiration Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!!!I hope you are ready for another "Inspirational" hop from the Center Stage Spotlight Alumni!

This is an Inspiration challenge, and we were to create a card or project based on one of the cookies pictured in the following photo from the Better Bit Butter (http://www.betterbitofbutter.com/index.htm) site.

Premier 2 is the one that got my attention right away!  I used the lovely bird image from the new StampTV kit called "Spring Silhouettes". 

I rolled some roses and added them to the Spellbinders Lotus die cut, and some white sprigs and leaves, made with  MS punches. As you can see, I used the piece of the lotus cut off from the card front to decorate the inside on my card. 

I think this will make a perfect card for a wedding!

Thurs. Apr. 7, 2011 Another MFP Sneak Peek

Here is another sneak peek from a soon to be released stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers.  This set is called "Bearded Iris" and will be available to purchase on April 12, 2011. 

My focal image was colored with Copic markers. I die cut a Fancy tag from Spellbinders and cut it in half to add to the top and bottom of my oval. The dp was created using the wax paper  (CB'd) technique, then sponged with Distress ink.  Wait until you see all the yummy images in this set!

Wed. April 6, 2011 It's your Day

I am loving this new Pennant Set from Tami at Gina K. Designs. 

I used silver and black cs, as well as a patterned paper. The circle and the half rosette were made with mirror cs.

I wanted to make a masculine card and I think I achieved my goal. What do you think?

Being a cat owner, I am drawn to cat stamps and this one does not disappoint. Of course, the beautiful gate and all those lovely flowers make for one great image.

Good Monday Morning!  Ok, maybe that's a stretch???? But hopefully, this is just getting us closer to some decent weather!

Today it's time for another sketch challenge at StampTV.  This will be one of those go-to sketches that can be used again and again.

For my card today, I used Melanie's "Bring the Bling" stamp set. I stamped with black ink on silver cs and added silver pearls with a Viva Pearl pen. I punched some lace with a MS border, added some crochet lace and a sentiment from Theresa's "Sending Sunshine" stamp set.

Good Morning everyone!

I have a pretty CAS card to show you today.  I found this digi bg online and thought it would be perfect with this image and sentiment from Gina K's Stenciled Spring stamp set. The pot of flowers was stamped using Stormy Sky Distress ink.  I added some faux stitching on the banner, and I was done!

Speedy's Challenge #49 Spotlight

Geri is hostessing the challenge this week- to spotlight an animal on our card. These are always fun!

I decided to use the tiger from Mark's Finest Papers "Big Cats" stamp set. I ended up with a great masculine card, don't you think?

Today is Color Challenge Day at StampTV.

Here is the combo:

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to come up with anything with these colors, but surprise-- I did it and I really like how it turned out! I used the flower image from Gina's "Springtime Silhouettes" stamp set.  Once again, I colored the stamp with Memento markers and a spritz of water, onto the Nestie oval die cut.
