I watched a tutorial on how to color black hair with Copic markers, so I thought I would give it a try. No one in my family has black hair, so I don't usually color images like this. I used a free image I received from Wee Stamps, and entered into a challenge at Copic Creations blog.

Mon. Feb. 28, 2011 STVBSKSP15
Today is Sketch Monday at StampTV and once again Gina provided us with a wonderful one.
I used images from Melanie's "Buds and Vases" stamp set. I colored the flowers with Copic markers. The panels were distressed with my Distrezz-it-all (love that little machine). The green mat was also embossed with the CB Swiss Dots folder. I also embossed the card base. Yikes- just realized I forgot to color the flower centers! I will do that now, but it is too dark out now to get another photo, so just pretend they are yellow, ok?
I am glad you stopped by!

Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 Lavender Note
I was digging through my stash the other day and found this dp, which I have had for years. Oooh- I really like it-must have been hoarding it-LOL.
I just recently got some PTI stuff, like the label die called Mat Stack 2 die, and the Mat Stack stamps. The sentiment is PTI as well. I sponged around the label, popped it onto a couple of Nestie Fancy tags and some grosgrain ribbon. I Copic colored a few pearls, add them and I was finished.
I am happy with the result and the card was pretty easy to make!
Thank you for stopping by. Please know all comments are greatly appreciated!

Sat. Feb. 26, 2011 Speedy the Cat's Challenge #44
Please make sure you leave your email address or blog link on your comment or email me (karen at knegtens dot com) if you have a question for me. Thank you!
Joanne T. provided the challenge for us this week, which is to use a food image somewhere on our card.
This is mine, using a dp with a fruit pattern. The daisies are from MFP's "Greet the Day with Gerber" stamp set. I stamped them twice and colored with Copic markers. I then cut out two of the daisies and popped them up, for more dimension.
Glad you stopped by and hope that you will play along with Speedy this week.

Sat. Feb. 26, 2011 CSS Treasure Chest Hop
Our Center Stage Alumni hop this time around plays tribute to the Animal Kingdom. Gina K offers so many wonderful stamp sets that have adorable animals to choose from.
If you arrived from JOY's blog, you are in the right place. If you would like to start at the beginning, CLICK HERE.
****Make sure to leave a comment on every blog along the way as you hop, because on Tuesday morning (March 1st), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs who will get a stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95! ****
The sheep image and the sentiment I used are from Gina K's Funny Farm Stamp TV kit, available HERE. I did the minimal coloring with Copic markers. The sponging was done with Distress inks. I decided to puff up this little guy with Flower-soft to give him some added dimension!
I don't want to keep you any longer, because you need to head over to Linda Payne's blog to see her fabulous creation! You won't be disappointed!

"Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge" #2
Another post for today and another entry made for the PTI Hop challenge- whoo-hoo!
For this one, I used the Gingham stamp from the Bitty Background Blocks kit, and buttons cut with PTI Buttoned UP dies. The ears are flower petals that were cut from a die cut flower, and so were the paws. The cotton tails are the smallest buttons on the die. Love the way this turned out!

"Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge"
I just received my first order from Papertrey, so it worked out great for me to make another box, using their products, along with scallops.
The label and sentiment are from PTI 's Mat Stack 2 collection. I made the rose using the rolled rose technique. The scalloped the trim around the box bottom using a MS border punch.

The One Layer Wednesday Challenge this week is Music!!!!
I chose to use Nina's "Gleefully Yours" stamp set, and I decided on a black and white theme. A very CAS card- just enough with the added black cord at the bottom. Thanks for looking!

Wed. Feb. 23, 2011 CASE card
I have been following Becca from Amazing Paper Grace for a while now. I watched one of her video tutorials the other day, and knew I would have to try this this.
This card wasn't too difficult, if you have already tried to make a rosette flower. I am very pleased with how it turned out.
HERE is the tutorial that Becca made. Her work just blows me away!!!
I will be back tomorrow with another card. See you then!

The card I have to show you today is for the sketch challenge STVSKSP14 over at StampTV.
Here is what I came up with using scraps I left on my work table from cards I made last week. ( I know should have cleaned it all up-LOL)
The sentiment is from Nina's "Elegant Verses" set. I stamped over the sentiment with a subtle flower stamp from Theresa's "Fanciful Fall" set. The flowers from Melanies's "A Year of Borders". I cut a Spellbinder's tag in half and attached on each side of the oval. Pearls were colored with Copics, as were the flowers on the border.

Mon. Feb.21, 2011 Release Party Challenges
I was so excited to play along with the Gina K. Release party challenges. I have three cards in this post!
The first challenge is Giovana's, to use yellow, green and 1 neutral.
I am happy with how this turned out. I used Nina's "Lovely Labels" stamp set for this card.
My second card is for Theresa's challenge String It Up. We were to use string, fiber or twine-but no ribbon.

The kite is from Gina K's "Eclectic Summer" stamp set, which I paper pieced. I masked off the kite string on the stamp and added some embroidery floss instead.
I CB'd the bottom half of the dp. The nestie die was sponged behind the kite.
My third card is for Suzanne's Sketch Challenge. The sentiment is from Nina's "Elegant Verses" set and the bird from Asela's "Winter Wings". I made the roses using the rolled paper roses technique and colored them with Copics and some paint dabbers, to blend with my dp.

Joanne G. at Mark's Finest Papers / Speedy the Cat has challenged us to use black, white and 1 other color, plus paper piercing.
For my card today, I used an image from the newly release "Greet the Day with Gerber" stamp set available here. I think this mouse and daisy image is adorable.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you play along with Speedy's Challenge #43.

Happy Friday!
Here is my card. Since I punched some lattice and added some sprigs of greenery to frame my oval, I decided just a sentiment would would help make this card less busy. I added a rose I made a while back. Sometimes I get in a flower making mood and then keep them in a box for later use. This red one was perfect, I think!

Thurs. Feb. 17, 2011 STVSKSP13 (Celebrate You)
Gina provided us with a very nice sketch this week. Here it is-
I used the birdhouse image from the Gina K "Sent with Love" stamp kit, which I colored with Copics. The sentiment is a free digi I downloaded from PTI. I think I am getting Spring Fever, as I noticed the colors I have been choosing are brighter!
Is that happening to you too?

Today's card is another made with the "Big Cats" stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers. This image is relatively easy to color and since I am such a cat lover, I wanted to ink him up again.
I appreciate you visiting!

Hi Everyone
I ran across an adorable digi image today. Check out the gadget on the right side of my blog. It is for a new digi store called Wee Stamps and even though she only has a few images out right now they promise to be adorable! And if you follow her blog, do a post and leave her a comment she will send you a free digi. Isn't that cool?

Happy Valentine's Day to all my visitors!
My card today has a grid patterned bg, that I made with my Scor-buddy. The image, which I colored with Copics, is a free digi I downloaded from PTI. I think it is so cute and very colorful.
I used Gina K's PL for the red scallopped square, and the black for the border panel. A simple yellow grosgrain to balance the card, and I was done. Voila!
I am really pleased with the way this came together!

Sun. Feb. 13, 2011 Another post for today
I wanted to participate in celebrating Papertrey's 4th Anniversary. Their designers made tags to download and wanted us to make something big. So, instead of just a card, I made a note card set with a matching box.

It's a color challenge STVCSP12 at StampTV and here are the colors Gina gave us to work with this week. I had my doubts at first, until I found this perfect dp in my stash. After I got my card made, I decided I REALLY liked this unexpected color combo.
Here is my card:
The cake image is from Gina's "Sent with Love" StampTV kit, which I glittered like mad. The sentiment is from Gina's "Labeled with Love" set.

Saturday, Feb.12, 2011 Speedy Challenge #42
I am happy to show you two cards I made with images from Mark's Finest Papers.
My sketch card for Speedy the Cat challenge #42 uses the "Greet the Day with Gerber" stamp set. I colored the image with Copics and then sponged the nestie oval. Isn't this mouse with the daisy so very cute? The sentiment from this set was inked up with Vivid Olive ink.
The "Big Cats" stamp set was just released as well, and is now available in the store HERE. There are FOUR brand new sets available now!
I used Speedy the Cat's sketch #42 for this card too. The lion was colored with Copics.
So glad you stopped by.

The card I have for you today is for a couple of challenges. First of all, this is for the sketch challenge at StampTV - STVSKSP12.
and also for the color challenge CR84FN14.
I created my focal image using a flower stamp from Gina K's "Botanicals" set.
I colored the stamp with Memento markers, spritzed with water and then stamped, to create a watercolor effect. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, inked up with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.Thank you for visiting!

Super Bowl Sunday 2/6/2011
I am very late posting this today. We had our Annual Soup Party at our house last night with many of our fabulous neighbors. It is always a blast! Everyone brings a crock pot of a homemade soup and each and every one was delicious!!!!
21 different soups to taste!!!
In addition to it being Super Bowl Sunday, today is my DH's birthday. I made this birthday card for him, using an image from Mark's Finest Paper's
"Big Cats" upcoming stamp set- available next Tuesday, Feb. 8th, 2011.
Hee hee, my DH is such a tiger, so this image is perfect for him! I opted for a black and white theme and the only hint of color is the tiger's nose. The sentiment is from the "Flourishes and Frame", also from MFP.

Announcement today- Sat. Feb. 5, 2011
Good Morning everyone!
I have been keeping a secret for about a month now, but now I can share my big news with you. I have been invited to become a member of the Design Team at Mark's Finest Paper's for Speedy the Cat's Challenge Team. I am so excited!
Please visit this link for Speedy the Cat's Challenge, then play along.
My inspiration was from UNCOMMON GOODS for IC 270 at SCS. They are wood bottle bookends, which looked like tiger stripes to me.
Thank you for visiting my blog today!

It's time for another color challenge at StampTV and Gina gave us these colors this time.
I saw a tutorial for a sliding pop-up card by Kim Score and decided to give it a whirl. This was fun to make. I used a Tilda image by Magnolia for this birthday card. The sentiment is from Gina's StampTV kit "Sent with Love".
I really appreciate you stopping by! I have some news to share tomorrow, so be sure to stop by.

Thurs. Feb. 3, 2011 Michelle Zindorf case
I saw this tutorial on Michelle Zindorf's blog and I really wanted to try and see if I could come close to Michelle's card. I think it came out pretty well, for the first attempt.
I used the bench from Gina K's "Sent with Love" StampTV kit. The sailboat in the painting on the wall is from Theresa Momber's "Aloha" set.
Glad you stopped by, and please know that comments are welcomed.

Wow- we are in the midst of the "Blizzard of Oz". Gee, I have to stay in and stamp! Too bad, so sad-HAHAHAHA.
The card I have to show you today uses a digi from Hambo Stamps. I colored him with Copics. The net is a background stamp I have had for ages, and then I created the frame out of cs.
Thank you for stopping by!

Time for another sketch challenge at StampTV. Here is what Gina has for us this time.
Here is my card- seems like I have used quite a bit of turquoise lately, but I like the way it works with this dp from my stash. The chair and the sentiment are from Nina's Fine Furnishings and the additions stamp sets.
Hope you have a great day!
